The DVS team travels to Detroit’s in search of semi-safe abandoned buildings, the kind of off the radar locations that have become ideal breeding grounds for DIY skate spots. With brooms, a drill, and some concrete, they set about converting the nine floors of the fire damaged Fisher Plant 21 into a skateable spot with a surreal ghostly backdrop.

Rain put a hold on the jam on New Year's Eve, but the Markit boys kicked it off yesterday afternoon. Random prizes at the end of the day and mini events beforehand to keep the people happy, it was a damn fun time with a solid mix of pros and kids just psyched to get the chance to ride Dennis' house. Big Daddy ended up taking the overall award for the day. Cody won the 270 challenge. Nipple took the satellite challenge. And I believe it was a split between Big Daddy and someone else on the Euro. This should be a yearly event...yeah?

2015 Powder Board Test
Anyone who’s taken a tomahawk or felt that searing back leg burn knows how challenging riding powder can be. But one lap on a board designed for deep snow can have you hovering through the fresh and hooting at the snow gods for more. While our Good Wood board test delivers some of the best boards for the season, it doesn’t include boards designed specifically for powder.
